Dear friend:

Do you have an hour for Hendricks County Senior Services?

One hour from you will make a big difference to Senior Services and the 5,000 plus individuals that we served last year.  Hour by hour, day by day, month by month, older adults all around the county are helped by this agency.  But each hour of operation has a price:  $214.62.  That’s the average cost of providing all services for every hour of every day that this agency is open.

We try hard to provide the best of service with the least money. We use the back side of copy paper, we keep our vehicles in optimum running order, we turn on only half the lights in the senior center, and we use real plates and silverware rather than buying paper- and plastic-ware. We try hard to obtain funds from a broad variety of sources:  CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, United Way, Hendricks County, Indiana Department of Transportation, and township trustees. 

But the fact remains that those funds are hard to come by and only pay for about half of our working hours.  And more and more, older adults are asking for help.  So we are asking for your help:  we hope that you will support Senior Services for just one hour by sending a gift of $214.62.  That gift will provide 7 rides, clean 2 houses, give one caregiver a break from her duties, help 2 homebound seniors, and host 21 people in the senior center.  Can you get more for your money anywhere?

A gift of any size, or your one hour of support, when combined with hundreds of other gifts, will make a big difference, all day long.  Please, won’t you take a minute to give an hour?
