The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is a nonprofit service and advocacy organization headquartered in Washington DC. The mission is to improve the lives of older Americans. NCOA is a national voice for older adults-especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged-and the community organizations that serve them. They bring together nonprofit organizations, businesses, and government to develop cxreative solutions that improve the lives of all older adults. As you may have heard, Hendricks County In Focus is a joint effort to help local residents identify the factors behind Hendricks County’s quality of life, and then develop ways to measure and monitor those factors in the coming years. While nearly everyone agrees that Hendricks County is a great place to live and work, it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly the factors that create that environment. It is for that reason, we are reaching out to you and requesting your participation in identifying the factors you believe are important to our quality of life in Hendricks County. The Community Health Assessment is a required document that must be submitted to accreditation by local health departments and is utilized by agencies and organizations to educate the public about the health of the community, obtain grant funding, and form partnerships.
