Hendricks County Senior Services believes that older persons have a right to live with independence and dignity in their own home for as long as possible. Towards that end, Hendricks County Senior Services is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Linda Richardson, President; Carol Edmondson, Vice President; Suzie Davidson, Secretary; Bob Porter, Treasurer; John Roof, Bob Gentry, John Howard, Nathaniel Woods, Kathy Billiard, John Sparzo, Larry Conrad, Carey Craig, Max Poynter, and Michael Mc Donald. Emeritus members; Bud Daum; Mary Louise Hopkins; and Lloyd McDaniel. Executive Director is Beth Ann Leach. Meetings of the Board of Directors are held at 11:00 on the third Wednesday of January, March, May, June, September and November in the Hendricks County Senior Center.
Agency services are delivered by paid and volunteer staff consisting of drivers, in-home aides, nutrition site hostess, in-home visitors, senior center instructors and assistants, fitness attendants, transportation manager and coordinator, activities coordinator, information/in-home coordinator, bookkeeper, and executive director. These number 49 paid staff and 142 volunteers.
The agency is the operations manager for LINK Hendricks County, the rural public transit system of the county.
Hendricks County Senior Services is located at 1201 Sycamore Lane in Danville. Its 15,200 square foot building houses the agency offices as well as an expanded senior center. Included are a dining hall, dance hall, classroom, computer lab and a fully equipped fitness center. The building is considered to be a model for senior centers in the Midwest.
